The following videos have been sourced from Ngā Niupepa Māori. The printing of these te reo Māori newspapers began in the mid 18th century. They are an amazing resource for very fluent speakers looking for a challenge. Many of the papers included English translations, which I have added to these videos to make them more interesting, and to aid understanding.
Things to note:
The context is the 18th Century and early 19th century, so these texts should be read as such.
The English language text is from another era and difficult to follow, so I have modernised the English.
If you want to read along with the Māori, you can find the texts online here.
